Aldís Amah Hamilton is an Icelandic-American actress known for her leading role in the 2021 television crime drama series Black Sands. She also portrayed Ástríðr in the 2024 video game Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II, for which she was nominated for the British Academy Games Award for Performer in a Supporting Role. In 2025, she appeared as the lead character Ryn in the video game Echoes of the End. Hamilton was also named Reykjavík’s Lady of the Mountain during Iceland’s National Day celebrations in 2019.
Born in Germany to an Icelandic mother and American father, Aldís moved with her mother to Iceland, where she was raised and attended university. Throughout her life, Aldís considered herself both Icelandic and American. However, despite having a claim to U.S. citizenship from birth, she faced significant challenges in obtaining the documentation necessary to establish and prove her citizenship.
