Joshua Mitson is a Senior Associate Attorney and the Chair of the Litigation Department at Wildes & Weinberg. Joshua is dedicated and devoted to defending the rights of fellow immigrants, and specializes in “crimmigration” cases – helping immigrant clients with criminal records navigate the U.S. immigration system. He is also a skilled litigator and has represented numerous non-citizens before various detained and non-detained immigration courts all over the country, the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and Federal Circuit Court of Appeals.
Joshua has tremendous experience in everything related to immigration litigation, including applications for asylums, waivers, cancellation of removal, appeals, Writs of Mandamus, Administrative Procedure Act violations, and more. He also advises clients on family-based applications, adjustment of status, and naturalization, and often represents individuals and families in front of administrative agencies and courts throughout the country.
Joshua previously served as an Associate Attorney (Immigration) at The Meyer Law Office, PC, and as a Student Attorney for the Civil Rights Clinic at the University of Denver Law School. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Colorado, the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit, and Immigration Courts around the country.

Performed various interviews for CBS Colorado, Denver 7, and Fox31 KDVR various immigration related matters. Testified at Colorado State Legislature on multiple immigration related bills.
Johnson v. Barr, 967 F.3d 1103 (10th Cir. 2020): Won published decision in client’s favor from the U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit. Case held that Colorado Revised Statute Section 18-18-403.5 was overbroad and indivisible as to the controlled substance grounds of removability, meaning client was not removable for his drug offenses.
