Managing Partner Michael Wildes and Senior Attorney Caroline Gabela-Monteiro are proud to announce the approval of the O-1 petition filed on behalf of Wycliffe Golf and Country Club to classify Margot Carter as an individual of extraordinary ability.

Margot Carter is an athlete of extraordinary ability in the field of Tennis. She has extensive experience in the field of tennis over the last decade. Margot is a former world ranked player with Tennis connections all over the world. She is an active member of the USPTA and PTR and regularly attends and speaks at international Tennis conferences.

Ms. Carter continues to receive national recognition for her contributions to the sport. She has recently been featured in official USTA Coaching publications and national campaigns highlighting leading coaches in the United States, including recognition in USTA’s “Women Coaches” initiative and appearance on the USTA Coaching platform.

Ms. Carter previously played College level Tennis at the Tennessee Tech University in 2003, and has been running her own Coaching business, Spherical Yellow Inc., since 2014. She is a coach developer and national tester for the PTR (“Professional Tennis Registry”). Not only is Ms. Carter a national tester for the PTR, but she is also among the very elite world-wide clinicians in that there are only 75 clinician testers worldwide out of the PTR’s over l6,000 members. Indeed, there are only 40 clinician testers in the USA across both organizations (the USPTA and the PTR, comprising a total of 17,000 USA members). She is certified as a USPTA “Elite Professional,” a rating given only to very few of the USPTA’s over 16,000 members.

Furthermore, the PTR – the largest global organization of tennis teaching professionals with more than 16,000 members in 131 countries worldwide – recognized and acknowledged Margot Carter as “PTR Member of the Year for Tennessee” in February 2021. During a special event held at their annual awards ceremony conducted virtually during their International Tennis Symposium on February 9-11, 2021, Ms. Carter was presented with the award as a member who has “shown dedication and diligence in promoting and supporting PTR and the sport of tennis” and for continuing to “make a world of difference” in the field of Tennis.

Ms. Carter is clearly an outstanding and exceptional tennis professional and coach. Additionally, as founder and CEO of Spherical Yellow Inc., a company dedicated to all aspects of growing Tennis; as a PTR Professional Coach and Coach Developer; as a USPTA Elite Professional having presented at multiple workshops, the WTCA Conference in NYC 2018, the WTCA ITA collaboration in Naples, FL 2018 and the 2019 Jacksonville area USPTA RED day; Margot Carter is uniquely qualified to satisfy and serve in a critical role with our organization. She already has enormous experience in creating and managing a tennis facility; her international network and exceptional background in the Tennis industry, position her perfectly to create this vision, and assure its success.

Taken together, Ms. Carter’s extensive recognition, leadership roles, media coverage, and contributions to the development of tennis programming clearly demonstrate sustained national and international acclaim. Her continued involvement in high-level coaching, program development, and industry leadership further underscores her standing as an individual at the very top of her field.

Wildes & Weinberg was founded in 1960 by Senior Partner, Leon Wildes.  He was best known for his successful representation of former Beatle John Lennon and his wife Yoko Ono as they fought the Nixon Administration during a five year bitterly contested Deportation Proceeding.

Nearly three quarters of a century later, the firm continues to concentrate its practice in all aspects of U.S. immigration and nationality law, servicing the immigration requirements of prominent American and International firms, banks, industrial, financial, and manufacturing concerns, as well as law firms in connection with the personnel needs of their foreign national employees.

In addition, the firm has a distinguished clientele and has done substantial immigration work for performing artists, directors, writers, models, actors/actresses, athletes, fine artists, art dealers, curators, and literary agents. Most notable was Leon Wildes’ successful representation of former Beatle John Lennon and his artist wife, Yoko Ono in their deportation proceedings, the basis of which has inspired legislation, and has been portrayed in films, plays, and literary works worldwide.  Some of the firm’s other distinguished clients include scholar Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks (z”l), as well as soccer icons Pele and Karim Benzema, Master Chef Jean-Georges, musicians Sinead O’ Connor and Boy George, as well as First Lady Melania Trump and her family.

Michael Wildes, the firm’s Managing Partner, is also currently serving his fifth term as Mayor of Englewood, New Jersey,  is the author of Safe Haven in America: Battles to Open the Golden Door (which draws on over a quarter of a century of his practice in the immigration field),  is an Adjunct Professor at the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law in New York, and serves as Counsel to Lincoln Center and several international/corporate law firms.

Despite difficulties currently being encountered in dealing with U.S. immigration authorities, the firm has maintained an extraordinary track record for success in its cases. The firm’s litigation group has expanded its efforts in filing Mandamus Actions and other Actions in Federal Courts throughout the nation.

In addition, Wildes & Weinberg’s multilingual staff is spread throughout its offices in New York City, Englewood, New Jersey, Miami, Florida, and by appointment only in Los Angeles, California and Tel Aviv, Israel, and are known for their experience and special expertise in processing each foreign national’s case with nothing less than the highest level of professionalism.
