wildes & weinberg secures o-1 visa for catalina monguillot minetti, a talented graphic designer from argentina

Managing Partner Michael Wildes is pleased to announce that the firm has secured an O-1 visa on behalf of Catalina Monguillot Minetti, a talented graphic designer from Argentina.

In order to qualify for an O-1 visa, the petitioning individual must demonstrate that he/she possesses extraordinary ability in the sciences, arts, education, business, or athletics, or that he/she has a demonstrated record of extraordinary achievement in the motion picture or television industry and has been recognized nationally or internationally for those achievements. In the field of arts, the foreign national must show that they have risen to a level of distinction, meaning “a high level of achievement as evidenced by a degree of skill and recognition substantially above that ordinarily encountered to the extent that a person described as prominent is renowned, leading, or well-known in the field of arts”.

Ms. Monguillot, who has enjoyed a highly successful career as a graphic artist and art director, working for prominent advertising agencies and organizations in Argentina, was easily able to prove the required level of distinction.

Catalina was ecstatic when she found out that her petition was approved, “Thank you to Michael Wildes and his staff, whose guidance and support throughout this process was invaluable, and thank you for making the introduction to the Agent who is representing me and who served as my Petitioner. As a result, I am able to accept multiple offers of employment and can work for several different US companies. I look forward to this next chapter in my career.”

According to Michael Wildes, “the use of an Agent is a provocative method that is desirable to many individuals, especially artists in all fields, as often times, artists do not want to be tied to working with just one employer in the United States. We are pleased that Ms. Monguillot was happy with our referral.”

Over the past 50 years, Wildes & Weinberg has concentrated its practice to all aspects of U.S. immigration and nationality law, servicing the immigration needs of prominent American and International firms, banks, industrial, financial and manufacturing concerns and law firms in connection with the personnel needs of their foreign national employees. In addition, the firm has a distinguished clientele and has done substantial immigration work for performing artists, directors, writers, models, actors/actresses, athletes, fine artists, art dealers, curators, and literary agents.

Most well-know for representing former Beatle John Lennon and his artist wife Yoko Ono, other notable clients of the firm include Pele as well other professional athletes including Greg Norman, Virginia Wade, Billy Smith, Al Arbour, and Kwame James, the former professional basketball player who subdued the would-be “shoe bomber” Richard Reid on a trans-Atlantic flight. Other notable clients of the firm include Joe Cocker, Johnny Rotten, Paloma Picasso, the 2013, 2011,2010, 2009 and 2008 Miss Universes, supermodel Giselle Bundchen and Sarah Brightman, the world’s bestselling female classical artist of the twenty-first century.
