a look back: then federal prosecutor michael wildes appears in federal court

Wildes & Weinberg, P.C. Managing Partner Michael Wildes, seated on the bottom left, appeared in U.S. Federal Court in the 1990s during the Haitian Refugee Case.Prior to joining the law firm of Wildes & Weinberg, Michael Wildes served as a former federal prosecutor with the US Attorney’s office in Brooklyn, NY from 1989-1993.  While there, he worked on the Haitian Refugee Case where Haitian nationals were interdicted by U.S. officials in international waters in the 1990s, among many other important matters.

In addition to serving the public as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, Michael Wildes also served with the NYPD as an Auxiiary Police Officer from 1982-1992, was appointed to  the District Appeals Board of the Selective Service System, a member of the Committee on Present Danger, has testified on Capitol Hill in connection with anti-terrorism legislation, and was elected to serve two-terms each as city council member and mayor of his hometown, Englewood, NJ. 

Today, known by many to be the immigration attorney for the stars, having represented such notables as Pele, several Miss Universes, and numerous other talented and extraordinary creative individuals, Wildes & Weinberg’s Managing Partner, Michael Wildes, is also an adjunct professor at  Yeshiva University’s Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law as well as a regular on network television and radio. In his free time, he volunteers as an EMT,  serves on several distinguished boards, and mentors future lawyers.
