michael wildes returns to lecture at the new school

It might have been windy and raining outside on April 29, 2014 but the feelings of hope and happiness filled the halls of The New School as Wildes & Weinberg, P.C. Managing Partner shared his expertise with the university’s international students, many of whom will be graduating next month. The theme of the lecture was life after college – how to live and work lawfully in the United States when the student visa runs out.
Believing firmly in community outreach, Michael Wildes and his staff offers these types of lectures free of charge. Typical workshops include discussions on the various types of visa’s available to those seeking to remain on America’s beautiful shores (i.e. B-1/B-2 visitor visa, F-1 student visa, H-1B skilled professional visa, L-1 intra-company transferee visa) as well as the path to lawful permanent resident status (green card holder) and eventually U.S. citizenship.  Mr. Wildes outlined the policies involved, discussed dead lines for the application processes, and how to remain in good status and not in violation of our nations immigration rules. Throughout the presentation,  Mr. Wildes fielded questions posed by the students and provided answers in the hope that the students would gain a clear understanding of the information given.
The firm was established in 1960 by his father, Leon Wildes, who is well known for his successful representation of Beatle John Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono in their deportation proceedings.
