wildes and weinberg mourns the loss of former client and firm friend al arbour, nhl player, coach and executive

Known for its strong legacy of securing U.S. visas and green cards for extraordinary athletes and artists, Wildes & Weinberg, P.C., was founded in 1960 by Leon Wildes, who is best known for his representation of former Beatle John Lennon and his artist wife Yoko Ono in their struggle to remain in the United States, despite the concerted attempts for the Nixon Administration to deport them.

More than fifty five years since its inception, the firm which now has offices in New York City, Englewood, New Jersey, and Miami, Florida (with a California location soon to be announced), continues to serve a distinguished domestic and international clientele and covers all areas of U.S. immigration law, including employment and investment-based immigration, work permits, permanent residence for qualified individuals, family-based immigration, asylum applications and all temporary and permanent-type visas. Moreover, the firm has a distinguished clientele and has done substantial immigration work for investors, scientists, physicians, bankers, performing artists, directors, writers, models, actors/actresses, fine artists, art dealers, curators, literary agents, and athletes including  Greg Norman, Virginia Wade, Billy Smith, and Al Arbour, all in their efforts to pursue careers in the United States.  Michael Wildes also assisted in securing U.S. citizenship for former professional basketball player Kwame James, who subdued the would-be “shoe bomber” Richard Reid on a trans-Atlantic flight.

We extend condolences to the entire Arbour family and know that the legacy that Al Arbour leaves behind will continue to have a great impact on future generations.
