Habeas Granted: Wildes & Weinberg Secures Freedom for Client Held by ICE

We are thrilled to announce a major victory for our client, who will soon be reunited with his family after the Court granted our Habeas petition.

Specifically, on January 30, 2026, Judge Fred Biery of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas granted the Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus filed by our office on behalf of our client, who has been detained at the Karnes County Processing Center in Texas.

According to Managing Partner Michael Wildes: “The petition, filed just two weeks ago, challenged the unlawful detention of our client, who was arrested by ICE in the New York City area in November 2025. The Court found that his detention was contrary to law and ordered his immediate release. This hardworking father of three U.S. citizen children, who has lived peacefully in the United States for over 20 years, will soon be reunited with his family in New York.

At Wildes & Weinberg, PC, we recognize that the current immigration climate can feel uncertain and daunting. But cases like this remind us—and those we represent—that there is always hope. We remain committed to advocating for our clients and standing by those in need every step of the way as they pursue relief and protection under the law.”

Special thanks to Stacy Huber, Mia Ganotice-Olis, and Jake LaRaus from our litigation team for their hard work and strong advocacy.
