Managing Partner Michael Wildes welcomes Mia Ganotice-Olis to the firm. Mia is in the New York City office and comes to Wildes & Weinberg with many years of experience in the field.
Mia Ganotice-Olis is a graduate of Florida International University (FIU) College of Law in 2012, and is licensed to practice law in New York, Florida, and immigration courts across the United States. Mia is fluent in Tagalog and Ilocano and speaks basic-level Spanish. Mia joins the firm as a litigator and has represented detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings all over the United States.
During law school, Mia studied European Union Business Law at Université de Montpellier in France, participated in Trial Advocacy, and worked as a student attorney for the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic, where she tried cases of detained individuals in removal proceedings in Miami, Florida. Mia also worked with the special division prosecuting gangs and narcotics at Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office. After graduating law school, Mia served as a judicial clerk at the 11th Judicial Circuit in Florida and worked as a social justice fellow at the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic at FIU Law, in conjunction with Americans for Immigrant Justice.
Wildes & Weinberg, P.C. was founded in 1960 by Michael’s father, Leon Wildes, whose best-known accomplishment was his successful representation of John Lennon in his widely publicized deportation proceedings (the circumstances of which have inspired several films and documentaries).
