we are saddened to learn of the passing of barbara walters

Managing Partner Michael Wildes and the entire firm are saddened to learn of the passing of Barbara Walters, broadcast journalist and television personality.

Barbara Walters, the intrepid interviewer, anchor and program host who led the way as the first woman to become a TV news superstar during a career remarkable for its duration and variety, has died at age 93.

Before becoming one of the most enduring and talked about news hosts in the world from the 1970s through the 2000s, Walters, born in 1929, was raised by parents descended from Jewish immigrants who fled antisemitism in Eastern Europe.

Michael enjoyed a very strong relationship with her for many years and was interviewed in several high-profile immigration matters involving whistle-blowers and defectors. According to Michael, “She handled the matters with great dexterity. She appreciated the close relationship I have with my father, calling on us personally to meet our clients and would in the years that followed refer matters to us”.

Barbara Walters was a real pro and cut through complicated matters with ease and professionalism! We wish much comfort to her extended family and friends and know that her legacy will live deep within all of us for many generations to come.
